Ref watch: Oh no, it’s Paul Peter Walton refereeing Chelsea Vs Everton

Oh Paul Peter Walton. Paul Peter is not the friendliest of referees, so expect a few cards in west London tonight, as dear ol’ Paul Peter has been handed this evening’s Milk Cup semi final tie. If you remember, Paul Peter refereed the Sunderland match a few weeks back, and sent off one of their players, but you probably know Paul Peter best for his performance during the Blackburn game at the start of this season. He was forth official and had a massive row with Jose (pictured) while The Toad looked on from the back of the bench.

As we reported back at the time of the Sunderland match, Paul Peter is most famous for having his name consistently given wrong on Match of The Day (he’s been named as Paul Walton for years by the BBC). And this is one for any fact fans out there – Paul Pete used to be a player himself, and skippered the mighty Long Buckby FC.

Paul Peter has shown two red cards, and a bonkers 46 yellows in just 13 matches so far this season. What else do we know about him? Big Fat Joe Kinear once described Paul Peter as being “too thick to be a referee”. Bless.
